So now you know then. I have the worst memory of a thirty-something Mom ever. Most days I can barely remember what I did the day before let alone details from a few years ago. My kids make fun of me about it all the time. =) On top of that my mind plays tricks on me with details that I do manage to remember. I was so sure I had talked to M before my husband went for his test. Apparently the conversation I remember happened when I called to tell her that my husband's test was negative. Sometimes I think I'm losing my mind. =) M's memory is way better than mine so I'll always defer to her details of The Story. She was right that I am not typically an alarmist with the family...I wait until I have all the details before I upset anyone so her version of events makes perfect sense.
I knew of course that M was tuning me out as I nagged (yes, it was definitely nagging) her about getting tested after that but she underestimated just how persistent I can be! Looking back now, I can't say what I thought would happen (besides praying that one of them would not be a carrier) once both M & Big Chris were tested. I just felt that it was so important for them to at least know. I am not big on surprises. To have information is to be prepared but the knowing is so hard sometimes...

Hi to all there. Lil' Chris is adorable. I am a mom of the CF daughter who is now at the tender age of almost 27 years (her bday is October). I will be reading your story daily as I do with Alice. There is always something new to learn no matter how old or young the child is and a mother is a mother and very protective of their brood. My daughter was only diagnosed at 2yrs old and she was so ill. Now with constant physio, meds, right foods, exercise etc she is doing great and actually is partaking in a CF research programme in London for the next 3 years. People are actually stronger than they give themselves credit for and CF kids are even more strong......beware mom you have been warned...hahaha no just kidding - all the CF people I know are very head strong and become very independant at an extremely earlier age than others.
Well enough said for now. This is afterall your story....I'll be waiting in anticipation for the next episode. Such a cutey pie he is!!!!!!!
Thank you so much for being our first commenter! I know M was so encouraged by your words. I'm sure she'll tell you herself very soon & I know that we'll both be praying for your daughter & her continued good health!! Thanks again! D.
Yes, thank you so much for being our first commenter! Yea! I starting to think nobody was going to leave any comments. I was so glad when I saw yours. I called D right away, I couldn't wait to tell her. Thank you so much for reading our story and for telling us a little about your own story. It's very encouraging to hear that your daughter is 27 and doing well. I hope you keep us updated on how she is doing. I will keep her, and you, in my prayers.
