I had my OB visit today. She said I am 3 cm dilated and 25% effaced(or however you spell it;) I am 37 weeks, which is considered 9 months pregnant!!
She seemed pretty surprised as to how far along I am! When I was pregnant with lil' Chris, I was 2 cm at this point and ended up having him 1 week early! So maybe I'll go 2 weeks early with Ayla!! I wouldn't mind;)
She thinks Ayla will be between 7 and 8 pounds. Same as lil' Chris, he was 7 lbs 9.5 oz. She said I could go any day now, I am considered full term.
She did a Strep B test today, at least I think that is what it was called;) I was still in shock about the 3 cm. LOL :) She said that if I test positive for it, and if they don't treat me right away, then Ayla could have problems when she is born...she listed a few things, but breathing problems is what stood out for me! I was like great, as if I don't already have to worry about possible breathing problems! I'm just going to leave it in God's hands and try not to worry about anything the next couple of weeks. I just want to enjoy it just being me and my 2 favorite boys:)
I'll let you know the results when I get it.

Yay! I know you are excited! I'll keep you in my thoughts & prayers! And don't worry about the Strep B - that is standard, and if you test positive for it, they will give you antibiotics & that takes care of it! I had a couple friends with it. :o)
I know you are ready! I'll keep watch out for your blog and make sure I don't miss out on any news!
Well if she is full term, then a couple weeks early would be all right.
It seems like when I had Carson a month early they told me that they could give me an antiobotic through the IV if my strept B came back positive. I would check and see if that is an option. Your right, no worries, God will guide you through this as well.
Hi M,
Glad all your appointments went so well! Don't worry about the strep b, I had that with Kate's pregnancy. They will just give you an i.v. antibiotic when you get to the hospital.
Daniel did not have a good clinic appointment on Wednesday. He started getting constipated over the weekend, and by Wednesday was miserable. This is the kid who usually has 3 or 4 bowel movements a day! He cried the entire time we were there, and did not want anyone to touch him. We could not even get a weight on him. Thank goodness they know he is not normally like this. He also still had a cough. They prescribed Miralax to get things moving, and did a throat culture. Finally today at 3:30 a.m., he started to go. He is feeling so much better. We will see what the troat culture reveals on Monday, and decide if he needs another round of antibiotics. Enjoy your weekend. I am so excited for you that Ayla is almost here! Daniel's Mom
